Community Engagement in Capital Investment
Purpose
A core principle of embedding health in your project should include a commitment to engage with the communities affected by the proposed development. Doing so increases the chance that your project will maximise positive health and social benefits and increase local support from the identified community.
This section provides resources on community engagement in capital investment projects, suggestions of good practice on how engagement can be undertaken as part of business case development, some examples of community engagement and where to access more information.
This section includes information on the role of community engagement in the CHIA process but extends beyond this covering the lifecycle of capital investment projects.
This section has been developed by the Scottish Community Development Centre and the CHIA project's Community Panel.
