Purpose
This section draws heavily on resources developed by the Public Health Scotland Health Impact Assessment Support Unit (HIASU) and the Scottish Health Inequalities and Impact Assessment Network (SHIIAN) for conducting Health Impact Assessment (HIA), which can be found in full here. The resources in this section have been adapted to provide tailored guidance to capital investment / large infrastructure projects.
The section provides information and guidance for each step of the CHIA process, which is closely aligned with a standard HIA. It provides a practical guide for how to prepare and run a CHIA screening workshop as well as how to scope and commission the evidence appraisal and development of recommendations, where these steps are required. This section also covers what is needed after a HIA report is completed.
