Project summary
To take part in the workshop, participants need to have some understanding of the proposal. Some participants may be very familiar with the project, whereas others may not. Prior to the workshop the project team should prepare a summary of the project using the Project Summary Template (Word doc, 38 KB)(opens new window) which should be sent to participants in advance.
It is often helpful to include time for a short presentation on the proposal at the start of the workshop. Participants should also have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposal before the exercise begins. Sometimes it is also helpful to hold a premeeting to introduce participants to the proposal and workshop concept.
Checklist and agenda
Participants should also be sent a link to, or given a copy of, the Health and Equity Impact Checklist (Word doc, 56 KB)(opens new window) prior to the workshop.
They should be asked to review it and consider whether they think the proposal will impact on the populations and health determinants listed. They should not be asked to submit these thoughts in advance, as this is just to streamline discussion on the day.
